Nizu is officially in its best year 2025

Yesterday, August 24th, we surpassed 2024’s revenue. I’m so thrilled the record was broken so early in the year.

That said, this year has been really strange. At the beginning, there was a total abandonment from Spanish readers. I don’t know what changed in Spain or what happened, but suddenly they stopped buying. In terms of good vibes, they’ve always been my biggest supporters. That made me take more seriously the idea of completely remaking Chapter 1 from scratch.

When I see the huge amount of one-star ratings on Chapter 1, I genuinely just want to quit. Most of those reviews come from comic book readers or people who don’t really read manga. I keep seeing complaints like “I have to read in reverse” or “It’s too short” way too often. I’m tired of explaining, “Just keep turning the pages and you’ll be thrown into the next chapter. See? It’s not short.” I’m also tired of begging for ratings. Even though it only takes one second, people refuse to do it—even if they like the series. Then I look at other books by millionaire mangakas, and the stars just pour in…

I recently changed the cover—actually, it’s the third time this month. I just wish I could raise the rating to at least 4.5/5 stars. But then the people who do enjoy it are often “professional rating skippers.” So what can I do?

Lately, I’ve also been stressing about ads. I went to bed around 3 a.m. after working the whole night optimizing them so they wouldn’t drain my wallet while still bringing results.

Ads are the biggest humbler—you see your ad reach 1,000,000 views, only about 300 people click, and maybe 30 download free copies that, if you’re lucky, might lead to a single sale.

It’s just hard to accept that out of a million views, only such a tiny number actually shows interest.

I don’t think anyone will read this, but I’ve been working on a new manga since November 2024. It’s less commercially viable than Nizu and will be about the length of a movie, so I expect at least eight chapters. It’s going to be sweet and sad. I plan to publish the first chapter this year and showcase it in late September.
